"I am really motivated about the OpenMyMed Prize because it is for my business and my brand a great opportunity to grow up. This Fashion Prize is supported by professionals from the Fashion and Design industry, and I will be really proud to present my brand concept and the workshop. As a young shoe designer, I'm curious to get professional feedback and will be happy to share about it."
When he was 25 years old, Maxime Barthel decided to learn the trade of bespoke shoemaker, and joined as a trainee the famous Paris firm Corthay. After that it was Venice, and the workshop of hand-made shoes by Gabriele Gmeiner. In 2013, in London, he became production manager of the new official made-to-measure and repair activity of the prestigious shoemakers Maison Christian Louboutin. Ready for a new adventure, he has created his own label of luxury, demi-mesure shoes, in a style combining elegance and extravagance, originality and classicism. In June 2017 Maxime opened his workshop-boutique in Marseilles: The Atelier Barthel.
