Fashion has a fantastic future and this first Fashion Forum will prove to Li Edelkoort that creativity and design are not dead! It was on this positive and dynamic note that Jean-Pierre Blanc (Hyères Festival) launched the First Fashion Forum organised by the French Ministries of Culture and Economy, bringing together more than 30 speakers on the theme "New fashion scenes" in front of an audience of more than 300 people.

Five round tables discussions approached the theme from all angles, from production to accompanying creativity, with particular focus on four key topics; creativity and design, skills and know-how, competitivity, and training and education. These four topics typify the expectations of the sector and are at the heart of the two main missions of the MMMM, namely accompanying and supporting the new generation of Mediterranean fashion designers, and training and educating future collaborators of the Fashion industry with the Master 1&2 Degree Courses in Fashion and Textile Métiers co-created with Aix-Marseilles University (AMU). Maryline Bellieud-Vigouroux (MMMM) was invited by Pierre-François Le Louët (Fédération Française du Prêt-à-Porter Féminin-French Women's Ready-to-Wear Trade Association). She mobilised and enthused the speakers and public by explaining the actions of the MMMM and its main objective of making Marseilles the Fashion Metropolis of Southern Europe.

The first milestone has been successfully achieved with the OPENMYMED Prize competition which, for its 7th edition, has attracted 156 candidates from 19 Mediterranean countries. The laureates will be decided by an international e-jury, completed by a vote by the general public from 14 December to 4 January on the MMMM's Facebook page. The next major rendezvous is 12 May with the inauguration of the OPENMYMED Festival and the double exhibition of work by JACQUEMUS at the MAC-Museum of Contemporary Art and the MuCEM-Museum of the Civilisations of Europe and the Mediterranean, with a programme bringing together the intercultural NOW GEN MED with our partners PHOTOMED and ART-O-RAMA.
