The OpenMyMed Festival produced by the Maison Méditerranéenne des Métiers de la Mode, is this year enthusiastically emphasising the work of a locally born designer Simon Porte Jacquemus. They offered him carte blanche to organise a double exhibition « Marseille je t’aime » at the [Mac] and the Mucem. A runway show of his collection Les Santons de Provence » was also hosted at the latter. A declaration of love for Marseilles and a perfect prelude to the MP2018 Programme with the theme Quel Amour!

« Marseille je t’aime » was inaugurated at the [MAC] on 12 May. The « Archives » part stages his archives in a performance by the Austrian choreographer Willi Dorner, with the Julien Lestel troupe of dancers immortalised by the photographer David Luraschi in the Marseilles National Park of the Calanques, a rocky stretch of coast with deep inlets, East of Marseilles. Whereas the « Maison » part is an exhibition with sculpture-houses, one round and one square, the signature of the designer, which show the Jacquemus archives in a new and different way. More than 1,800 were present at the private view of the Exhibition and were able to meet Simon Porte Jacquemus and slip into his poetic, fun and recreational universe... The exhibition is open at the [MAC] until 14  January 2018.
