What is happening with trainers? The brands are releasing one crazy advertising spot after another and this time it’s Kate Moss who's playing along.
Yesterday Jonas Hill treated us to a spot that was basically anti-pub for the Reebok x Palace collection. In a genre which is a little less crazy, and a little prettier, Adidas defy the web pop codes to make you want a pair of Gazelles.
On the back of the successful return of their Stan Smith trainers, the brand wants to make this collaboration with the "waif" a new hit in terms of come-backs. To do this they have taken a spot and photo of baby Kate, with Gazelles on her feet, and animated it. Beware an epileptic fit: it jumps around, changes, splits, and goes quickly, in all directions. The rhythm gives the spot the look of a psychedelic animated GIF.
There is no doubt that the vintage photo of the almost juvenile little face of Kate Moss will give a real boost to the model; the first photo was taken in 1968.
