In this day, everybody is griving facing this direct affront to freedom of speech. The Maison Méditerranéenne des Métiers de la Mode wishes to express all its pain and its condolences to the victims’ families and relatives.
We support Charlie Hebdo and through it, the freedom of speech, those who express it and those who protect it.
The journalists Cabu, Charb, Honoré, Bernard Maris, Tignous, Wolinsky, the columnist Elsa Cayat, the spell-checker Mustapha Ourrad and the maintenance agent Frédéric Boisseau. But also, the policemen Franck Brinsolaro, responsible of the cartoonist’s protection, Ahmed Merabet, from the mountain bike brigade of 11th district and Michel Renaud, founder of Rendez-Vous du Carnet de Voyage Festival, guest of the editorship.
To draw is to express oneself. Art, creation is and has always been a mortal danger for fanatism and dogmatism of all kind, because it is the freedom expression. Without freedom, no culture and without culture, no freedom.
Fashion, as a tool of artistic creation is also affected in its flesh. Fashion describes society, it shows us its evolutions, fears sometimes, its enjoyments, its jerks and its future. We must not keep quiet.
