Bpifrance, the French public investment bank which specialises in supporting SMEs, launches its loan dedicated to the creative industries. A total, renewable amount of €30 million to finance 200 companies in the sectors of luxury goods, fashion, the visual and decorative arts, gastronomy and performing arts. In France these sectors count more than 500,000 companies and generate more than 1.7million jobs.
Pascale Akiki, the General Manager of the MMMM commented:
« For the last 30 years the Maison Méditerranéenne des Métiers de la Mode (MMMM) has worked to help young businesses in our industry. We are the porte-parole of our young labels with local government and financing organisms; we explain to them the difficulties our labels are experiencing. The initiative of BPI France reinforces our strategy and has been the subject of various discussions with Pierre Villefranque, the Regional Director of BPIFRANCE PACA who explained: « BPI France is a growth accelerator providing financial solutions adapted to the needs of the enterprise in the different phases of its development, whether in the form of a loan or as a capital investment. » »
The MMMM was a speaker at the Forum de la Mode fashion forum, on 6 December last year, organised by the French Culture and Economy Ministries and fashion industry professionals. At this occasion, Mme Isabelle Ginestet, who is responsible for cultural and creative industry funds at Bpifrance, said that she would like to come to Marseilles and meet the MMMM's President Matthieu Gamet and different teams.
