From fashion to design, Olivier Guillemin has always moved in a creative universe; since his fashion studies at the Studio Berçot private school of fashion design in Paris, to the creation of the [o,o] Design Agency with Olivier Védrine in 2001. Initially an assistant of Thierry Mugler and Azzedine Alaïa, he decided to create his own label and be responsible for its international distribution. The first laureate of the Paris ANDAM Fashion Awards in 1989, the National Association for the Development of Fashion Arts, he presented his work, both fun and futurist, in unusual locations with spectacular shows which were also media events. In parallel he was an expert advisor to major textile groups and trade shows like PREMIERE VISION and INTERSELECTION, and designed the ready-to-wear and licence collections of PACO RABANNE from 1991 to 93. He has been President of the French Committee for Colour since 1993, and was elected General Secretary of Intercolor in 2009. His creative expertise also led him to become a member of the Conseil des métiers d’art-Arts Trade Council, part of the Culture and Communications Ministry, where for eight years he headed up a commission on innovation in Arts Trades. Since 1992, he is a member of the Commission de classement « Couture Création » classification council which awards the accreditation « Haute Couture ». For his work and contributions to French fashion and creation, Olivier Guillemin was named Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2002 (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters). Presently he is Creative Director and Colour Expert for trade shows like APLF in Hong-Kong, and major international brands like Shiseido.
