« I have a very emotional attitude towards the MMMM. When I decided to launch myself in the adventure that is Sessùn, my parents were both teachers and I had no entrepreneurial experience. Maryline Bellieud-Vigouroux and her teams really took over and helped. They gave me a lot of encouragement. In 1999 I was selected for the Charte des Créateurs (Creators Charter) award. Today I sit on the MMMM's Board. Managing Sessùn doesn't really leave me too much time, but it is important that I get involved. The fact that my designs are well received even though they are quite discreet — the exact opposite of ostentatious — shows that there is not just one Marseille style but different Marseille styles. And that is far from being a cliché. Yes, our lifestyle is less stressful than in Paris, where I like to feel immersed, impregnated with culture, exhibitions... But I am still very attached to my city. I need to be in Marseille, I need the light, the water, the landscapes. I like to go for a swim at the end of a day's work, eat sardines and simply spend time in the Vieux-Port area. I feel that I belong to the Mediterranean. »
